The Soutbossie grows high on estuarine shores, in sandy areas that lie close to, or just above, the high-tide level.
The Soutbossie has short underground stems with upright branches surrounded by grey-green succulent leaves with a velvety texture. Size: 10 cm.
The name Soutbossie is Afrikaans for ‘little salt bush’ which relates to the plant's presence on the shores of estuaries.
