A brief history of Kruger Memorial.

Naturally, Paul Kruger is, himself, memorialised at the Park, both with the Kruger Monument (at the Kruger Gate), and the Kruger memorial tablet. The latter is to commemorate the foundation of Kruger Park, and reads: 'This tablet was erected by the National Park Board of Trustees to commemorate the institution of National Parks into the Union.

Sabie Game Reserve proclaimed by President Kruger in 1898. National Parks Act introduced by Mr PGW Grobler, Minister of Lands, in 1926.'

A further plaque, at Skukuza, remembers those who are seen a the Founding Fathers of the park: James Stevenson-Hamilton, Paul Kruger and Piet Grobler.
