Just relax and "take a moment". Head off to Kruger where you can leave your routine behind and enjoy the tranquillity of the African bush. Some African safaris can leave you needing a holiday to recover from the busy pace but this package is designed to give you a fabulous Kruger safari experience and plenty of time to spend at leisure.
This 4-day relaxing Kruger safari getaway package allows you to enjoy a guided safari experience in the middle of the game-rich Private Game Reserve, far away from the crowds of tourists. Guided morning and afternoon game drives which will not be rushed, provide you ample time to see wildlife such as the Big Five.
Evenings are spent dining in one of three venues, around a roaring fire at the boma, at an enclosed restaurant or you can experience romantic dining under the African night sky. This is really what a getaway is all about!
Flying in means you skip the stress of a long road trip. Head to O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg where you will catch a flight to Hoedspruit. Upon landing, you will be driven in a safari vehicle to a Private Game Reserve in the Greater Kruger area.
On your journey, you will pass through the scenic bush veldt, where you will get to enjoy a short game drive en-route to your lodge in Kapama Game Reserve. You may spot impala or even some of the Big Five. Have lunch at the lodge and spend some time relaxing before embarking on an afternoon game drive in an open safari vehicle accompanied by a skilled ranger and tracker.
You can expect to encounter a diverse range of animal and bird species. Return to Kapama lodge to feast on delicious cuisine at your choice of 3 dining venues. Retire to your comfortable en-suite accommodation for the night.
Have breakfast and adjust to the gentle pace of life, the rhythm of the African bush. Embark on your first-morning game drive after a steaming cup of coffee. Game drives take place in open 4x4 safari vehicles under the guidance of experienced rangers. Keep your camera handy as you are sure to spot a variety of wildlife including the Big Five - lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo. Halfway through your morning game drive, you will stop for some hot drinks and snacks before returning to the lodge for a full breakfast.
Relax back at the lodge in the afternoon. Have a swim, go to the Wellness Centre or indulge in a siesta before your afternoon game drive. As darkness falls, the nocturnal animals of the bush come out. Your skilled tracker will scan the landscape using a spotlight, which illuminates animals' eyes. Return to your safari lodge in the Kruger for dinner under the African stars.
A gentle knock at the door and a fresh cup of coffee herald the start of a new day. After a light snack, set out on a morning game drive, tracking African wildlife. Return to the lodge around mid-morning and savour a refreshing breakfast. There will be some time to relax and treat yourself to a relaxing massage or safari spa treatment at the spectacular Wellness Centre.
In the late afternoon after a delicious high tea, you will set out on another game drive. Stop off in a scenic location for sundowners as the sun slips below the horizon. Afterwards, there will be a night game drive en route back to the lodge, where you can spot nocturnal animals such as leopard, lion and hyena on the prowl before returning to enjoy dinner at your safari lodge in the Kruger.
Today marks the last day of your relaxing Kruger safari getaway. There is just enough time to head off on one more morning game drive. This is your last chance to tick off some of the animals you might not have seen on your African safari.
After breakfast, you will be taken via private road transfer to the airport to catch your scheduled flight back to Johannesburg. You could even extend your trip to spend some time in Cape Town. Some of the best holidays in South Africa combine both an African safari experience with some time on the beach.
