Immature Description
Immatures are brown.
Adult Description
A marine version of the Reed Cormorant and recognised by its overall blacker appearance, permanent crest all year and shorter tail.
Status
Fairly common resident.
Distribution
Present along the coast from August to April in great numbers but individuals may be found throughout the year. Very rare inland.
