The duration of this budget Kruger Park Safari is flexible. Options include 3 day, 4 day and 6 day itineraries.

  • Day 1: Marc's Treehouse Lodge, Motlala Game Reserve

    Arrive at Marc's Treehouse Lodge via the Balule section of the Kruger Park. This rustic lodge is situated on the Motlala Game Reserve which is home to 3 of the Big Five (Rhino, Leopard and Buffalo). It's an ideal budget Kruger Park safari option for backpackers. Unwind with an early sundowner at the bar or a refreshing swim in the pool. You will then depart on a sunset game drive. The sunset game drives are ideal for spotting nocturnal game. A traditional South African dinner will be served in the boma (outdoor enclosure) when you arrive back at camp.

    Day 2: Kruger National Park, South Africa

    Explore the Kruger National Park on day 2 of your affordable Kruger Park safari. The area is home to South Africa's Big Five, namely Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard and Rhino. You will also be able to spot some of the diverse bird species native to this area. Remember to take you camera with to capture your Kruger Park safari memories.

    Return to camp where you can enjoy delicious South African cuisine next to an open fire. Share your game drive experiences with some of the other guests while you relax next to the warm fire in the boma (outdoor enclosure).

    Day 3: Marc's Treehouse Lodge, Motlala Game Reserve

    Rise early and discover the African bush up close on a guided game walk. You will be able to spot some of the numerous bird species native to the area. Some of the wildlife you might see include Nyala and Buffalo. Return to the lodge where you can enjoy a scrumptious breakfast before departing. The road transfer to Johannesburg will take you through the scenic Blyde River Canyon. Arrival in Johannesburg is scheduled for the late afternoon. Airport drop off can be arranged on request.

    Optional day 4: Kruger National Park, South Africa

    On day 4 of your safari in Kruger, wake up early for an early morning game drive. You might see Buffalo, Elephant and several antelope species. Also keep an eye out for the unique Baobab trees. After your game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast before departing. The road transfer to Johannesburg will take you through the beautiful Blyde River Canyon. Arrival in Johannesburg is scheduled for the late afternoon. Airport drop off can be arranged on request.

    Optional day 5: Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre

    Day 5 of your 6 day Kruger Park Safari is spent exploring the Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre. The centre houses orphaned and injured animals. Learn more about conservation and how Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre cares for these animals. Enjoy lunch before departing on a sunset game drive. Keep an eye out for Buffalo, Lion and Elephant.

    Optional day 6: Kruger National Park

    This is the last day of your 6 day Kruger Park safari. After a mouthwatering breakfast, explore the Kruger National Park with an exciting game drive. Some of the African wildlife you could see include Lion, Rhino and Giraffe. Game drives are also ideal for bird watching. Some of the species you might spot include Ground Hornbill, African Hawk and Kori Bustard.

    The game drive marks the end of your 6 day Kruger National Park family safari. Enjoy the spectacular scenery as you make your way through the picturesque Blyde River Canyon on your way back to Johannesburg. You are scheduled to arrive in Johannesburg by the late afternoon. An airport drop off can be arranged on request.
