This 3 Day Getting Back to Basics Package is based on a 2 night stay in a canvas safari tent at one of the camps in Kruger National Park. Enjoy leisurely self-drive game drives in search of the regions famed wildlife.

Tented Safari Package Experience

The Kruger National Park is a vast wilderness area and is one of the few places left in Africa where you can get a real safari experience. This iconic destination is also ideal for a self-drive safari where time becomes immaterial and exploring the wilderness is an adventure.

Day 1: Johannesburg O.R. Tambo Airport to Kruger Park

Pick up your rental car at Johannesburg O.R. Tambo Airport in the morning for the 5 - 6 hour drive east to Kruger National Park passing through the mining heartland of the country and the beautiful lowveld. From the moment you arrive in Kruger Park your safari experience starts. You can already do some game viewing en-route to your camp spotting wildlife such as antelope and if you are lucky Lion or a herd of Elephant.

You will spend the next two nights in a canvas safari tent in one of the Kruger Park camps. Once you arrive, settle in; explore your camp and un-wind after your journey. Dinner is for your own account - prepare a meal at your braai/barbeque area by your tent.

Day 2: Kruger National Park

The whole day is yours to explore Kruger National Park in your own time and you can decide in which direction you want to travel. Come across a pride of Lion resting in the shade or a herd of doleful Wildebeest. Maybe stop at a lookout point or picnic site for lunch or visit one of the many camps you will find en-route.

It is recommended that you start the day early as game viewing is best in the mornings. Stock up on snacks at the shop and spend more time at a waterhole where you are sure to see some Hippos and various other animals coming down to quench their thirst.

Day 3: Depart Kruger National Park for Johannesburg O.R. Tambo Airport

After breakfast it is time to pack up. Enjoy your last moments game viewing travelling from the camp to the exit gate before heading in the direction of Johannesburg.
