There is no better way to explore South Africa’s beautiful heritage and diverse wildlife than doing a self-drive holiday – this is what a real safari experience is all about. Not only will you see some of our country’s stunning scenery, from the rolling hills of the Mpumalanga Highveld to the majestic Blyde River Canyon, you will also ride on the back of an elephant and to top that have an exciting guided wildlife adventure in Kruger National Park.
With our 7 day Experience It All Tour there is ample time at leisure to get out there and meet the people as well as interact and partake in exhilarating guided activities: a truly memorable experience sure to leave a lasting impression.
Day 1: Johannesburg – Mpumalanga Highveld
On the first day of your Experience It All Tour, collect your rental car at Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport for the 3 hour drive east through beautiful mountain ranges to Mpumalanga. With the proximity to Johannesburg, there is no need to arrive early today as this is a day at leisure just to relax before starting your exciting safari experience.
You will be welcomed at your luxury country hotel with a refreshing drink and taken to your luxurious suite with four poster bed, private verandah and fireplace. High tea with sumptuous delicacies will be served in the late afternoon under the trees overlooking the spectacular Mpumalanga Highveld.
The rest of the day is yours to spoil yourself with spa treatments to get rid of the jet lag, fly-fishing or if you feel more adventurous, going for a stroll in the countryside which has many plains game such as antelope, giraffe and zebra.
Enjoy a silver service three course dinner tonight in the main dining room, ending your day off with a nightcap in the lounge around a crackling fireplace.
Day 2: Hazyview
Breakfast is a delectable affair and will get you going for the day ahead. Check out and start your journey to Hazyview near Kruger Park. At midday you will visit an Elephant sanctuary which is a unique interactive experience learning about these majestic creatures and as a highlight of your package, doing an Elephant back safari.
Enjoy lunch at your Hazyview accommodation, located on the banks of the Sabie River and then spend the afternoon at your leisure. Dinner is on your own account at nearby restaurants.

Day 3: Hazyview - Kruger National Park
Start your day with a delicious breakfast before embarking on a full day private guided safari into Kruger National Park. Enjoy a full day of exciting wildlife encounters – from playful families of Elephants to graceful Impalas grazing next to the road or herds of Buffalo. Your knowledgeable guide will interpret the bush and give you a detailed explanation of wildlife behaviour. Hopefully you will see the Big Five as well as a diverse array of other animals and birdlife. Return to your accommodation for a lovely dinner.

Day 4: Timbavati Private Game Reserve
Have a hearty breakfast before leaving to start the next part of your adventure in a private game reserve in the Greater Kruger National Park. After a delicious welcoming lunch, there will be some time to relax and settle in at your comfortable suite which has all you need to make you feel at home.
In the afternoon set out on a game drive with the local guides. The vehicles are allowed to drive off road and your chances of seeing all the Big Five (if you have not done so already) are good. Delight in a tasty meal in the boma area around the fire, sharing stories of your travels with other guests.

Day 5: Timbavati Private Game Reserve
Start your day with an early morning wake up call for tea and coffee. Your guide will then take you out on a morning game drive of about 3 to 4 hours – possible the best time of day to be out on a safari vehicle when animals start to come out for the day. You might just encounter a pack of wild dogs or if you are really lucky, a pride of white lions!
Upon return to the lodge, you can indulge in a breakfast feast, followed by the opportunity to join your guide on a short 1 hour bush walk. The heat of the day is at leisure to spend as you wish – cool off with a swim in the pool or relax on the comfortable deck with a good book.
After lunch, head out with your guide and tracker on an afternoon game drive with a stop for sundowners – nothing beats watching the sun set over the horizon in the bush, a magical experience you won’t easily forget. Enjoy dinner under the stars down by the waterhole.

Day 6: Panorama Route - Sabie
In the morning after your last game drive and brunch, travel the famous Panorama Route through one of the most spectacular canyons in the World. Take in the stunning panoramic views from the Three Rondavels and God's Window and stop for lunch in the historic town of Pilgrim’s Rest. This quaint little town is well-known for the gold rush era long ago and one almost feels like you have stepped back in time passing the old mining houses and historic graveyard.
Travel onwards up the Mpumalanga Escarpment to the beautiful town of Sabie which is surrounded by picturesque forests and a beautiful waterfall. Enjoy a hearty dinner in the dining room before spending the night in a comfortable suite.

Day 7: Panorama Route – Johannesburg
On the final day of your Experience It All Tour, after a hearty breakfast you will travel back to Johannesburg. The journey will take you through some beautiful scenery before entering the “City of Gold” once again.
