Your African Safari Experience

When you arrive at Thornybush Game Lodge, you will get a welcome drink and your luggage will be taken to your room. You can either partake of high tea or enjoy a hearty lunch. After lunch you will get the opportunity to go on the first game drive of your African safari.

Upon returning to camp you can dine on delicious African cuisine. The camp will provide all meals and high teas, and activities. Every need you could have will be catered to while on this African safari.

This African safari will provide you with the opportunity to experience the fascinating wildlife in an open safari vehicle. Relax, sit back and enjoy the scenery! During the heat of the day you can use your time for relaxing, catching an afternoon nap, or spotting wildlife from a vantage point at the camp.

The knowledgeable safari guides will teach you about the wonders of the bush, from the big to the small, without missing a thing! The birdlife is spectacular, and you should also keep an eye out for the Big Five. An abundance of other wildlife can be spotted, including a variety of antelope, such as Duiker, Waterbuck, Impala, Sable and Klipspringer. Other, regularly encountered species include Hippopotamus, Wild Dog, Hyena, and Crocodile.

A safari in South Africa is known for spectacular wild animals, amazing vistas and colonial themes. This African safari conjures up all those thoughts and makes each day an exciting safari adventure, ready for new encounters and experiences.

Because this safari is conducted in Thornybush Game Reserve, guests have the opportunity to get some of the best sightings. During game drive safaris, your guide will drive through the bush tracking various animal species. On bush walks, you set off from the lodge and walk through the African bush with armed rangers. The rangers will track the wildlife and teach you about the importance of preserving the precious environment.

There are lovely activities for children on this African safari. Upon arrival children will get back pack with crayons and a colouring book. There is a children menu to suit a young persons taste buds. Activities include game drives, educational walks, treasure hunts and picnics at the pool. Children above 6 years old are welcome on the game drives. Baby sitters are available on request.
