This 4 Day Kids Elephant Adventure Package offers a self-drive tour to Hazyview and includes an Elephant interaction and a choice of fun adventure activities for the whole family. This itinerary also allows for you to do a full day self-drive game drive in the Kruger National Park.

Family Holiday Package Experience

Enjoy a family holiday with our self-drive Kids Elephant Adventure Package. Learn about Africa’s gentle giants and ride an Elephant through the bush. Kids will be mesmerized by the interaction with these magnificent animals. Exchange trunk greetings and learn about their behaviour from the guides before setting out through the bush on the Elephant's back.

Challenge your family’s creativity while on a choice of adventure activities, either the Tree Top Trail, the Climbing Wall, or experience the rush of speed while whizzing through the air on a Zip Line. All of these activities are fun for the whole family.

Spend a full day on a self-drive game drive, discovering the varied wildlife in Kruger National Park. Spot many antelope such as Giraffe and Zebra, or see Elephant in the wild. Stop off and have a leisurely picnic at one of the Rest Camps, before continuing your adventures.

Day 1: Johannesburg to Hazyview

In the morning you will collect your rental car from O.R. Tambo International Airport and drive to Hazyview. The journey will take you through the Mpumalanga Highveld, as you descend the escarpment the scenery is very beautiful and changes from the pine forests to the bush of the Lowveld.

Settle into the hotel and let the kids cool off with a swim in one of the two swimming pools. Then relax on the terrace overlooking the river and listen to the Hippo honking down below, while sipping on refreshing sundowners. Savour a delicious meal in the restaurant before falling asleep to the sounds of the African night.

Day 2: Country Estate in Hazyview

After having a delicious breakfast at the hotel set out for a day of adventure. Take to the trees while on a rope course through the beautiful Lowveld Forest on a Tree Top Trails course. The whole family will have fun as they are challenged by the obstacles on the course. Alternatively, if your family has a need for speed, you can try the zip line experience. How about attempting the climbing wall? Anyone can attempt this, as strategy rather than strength is the all important factor in getting to the top.

Head back to the hotel and have lunch before relaxing. Perhaps cool off in the swimming pool. In the late afternoon drive to an Elephant interaction. Touch an Elephant and feel how tough their wrinkled hide is. Then ride an Elephant through the bush and watch them spraying water over their backs as they enjoy a sunset drink. This is a memory the kids will cherish!

Day 3: Country Estate in Hazyview (Game Drive in Kruger)

Today after breakfast you head into the Kruger National Park. Perhaps pack yourselves a picnic to have at one of the rest camps or stop off at one of the rest camp restaurants or shops to grab lunch.

You will now have a much better understanding of the Elephants when you come across them in the wild. Spot a pride of Lion on the prowl, or let the kids spot Technicolor chameleons crossing the road. Experience the thrill of spotting the regions varied antelope and perhaps see the endangered White Rhino.

Day 4: Hazyview – Panorama Route - Johannesburg

Today after breakfast you will drive the Panorama Route before heading for Johannesburg. The Panorama Route offers some of the most stunning scenery in the country. Stop off at the Three Rondavels and God’s Window and take in the spectacular view. In the late afternoon you will arrive back in Johannesburg and leave your car at O.R. Tambo International Airport.
