Original Safari Packages Safari Experience
Spending time on safari in an iconic destination is the dream of many people around the world but often the cost of the accommodation is inhibiting. For those who do not want a luxury lodge experience but also do not want to camp out in the wild, options are limited. This 3 Day Classic Safari is the best option available as it also includes a guide to share the secrets of the wilderness of Kruger.
Game drives in this iconic destination always produce something special, and although the big game is what most people want to see, there are also the secret aspects of the wilderness that your professional guide will reveal over the 3 days spent in Kruger Park.
Day 1: Johannesburg O.R. Tambo Airport to Kruger Park
Depart early from Johannesburg between 07h00 and 07h30 in the morning to start your group safari to Kruger National Park. A stop will be made en-route for lunch in one of the smaller towns. When you enter Kruger Park at approximately 12h00, your first game drive will begin.
Enjoy the stories and intimate knowledge of the guide about the amazing diversity of wild and plant life. You will arrive at your Rest Camp in Kruger National Park in the late afternoon, and then there is some time at leisure to go for a quick swim, purchase some gifts or beverages at the camp shop, or just strolling around the camp to stretch your legs.
Your guide will then start to prepare the evening meal just outside your chalet, under the stars and served by candlelight. The evening will be quite exciting as you start hearing the amazing sounds of the nocturnal animals and finding out more about them from your guide.
Day 2: Kruger National Park
The early morning knock on your door signals the start of your second day on safari. After a warm cup of coffee, you begin your early morning drive. An early start on safari is the perfect time to spot predators that are very active during that time.
Breakfast will be served at a lookout point or picnic spot and then you will be off on your safari game drive again for the rest of the morning. After a full morning’s driving, you return to camp where you can relax during the hottest part of the day. All the camps used on this Kruger Park safari package, have cafeterias and restaurants, so you will be able to purchase lunch.
In the late afternoon you will embark on a sunset/night drive which gives you an opportunity to spot some of Kruger National Park’s elusive creatures only coming out at night, such as hyena, leopard, owls, nightjars, civet and others. Upon your return, your guide has already prepared the evening meal and you will have a fantastic experience sitting under the stars listening to lions roaring in the distance or perhaps the laughter of hyenas.
Day 3: Depart Kruger National Park via Panorama Route for Johannesburg O.R. Tambo Airport
There is still time for a couple of hours morning game drive in the hope of seeing those last few animals you have not yet ticked off your list. After brunch, you will leave Kruger Park to start the last scenic part of your safari package. This include stops at some spectacular sights on the Panorama Route.
You can see the scenic Blyde River Canyon, Lisbon Waterfalls, Bourke's Luck Potholes or Pilgrims Rest and the 3 Rondavels. After lunch it’s a good 4 hours drive back to Johannesburg where you are scheduled to arrive approximately 18h00.
