The Kruger National Park's (KNP) managing executive, Abe Sibiya received a cash donation of R105 000 00 from Jacaranda RMFM in December 2010. The money is intended to assist the KNP with its fight against rhino poaching. Jacaranda RMFM raised the funds from listeners through a telephone call initiative.

The donation will assist in purchasing the much needed ranger equipment such as night vision surveillance equipment and bullet proof vests. 333 rhino has been lost to the poachers in South Africa last year. Out of this number, 146 rhinos were poached in Kruger.
