Visitors and Kruger staff joined in a day of fun and games during the Munghana Lonene FM's live broadcast on Sunday June 12. The Skukuza Soccer Stadium filled up from early morning with a soccer game between an invitation side from Munghana Lonene against a Kruger 15. Several local artists, including Tikitiki from Acornhoek, provided a popular pre-show to the main item of the day - artist Mdu, also known as as 'chomi ya bana'.

Meet Mr and Mrs Hannes Rosslee!

Hannes' beautiful bride Dannielle Sharman came to South Africa a week ago to meet his parents at Matumi, owners Theodore and Elsie Rosslee. Hannes happened to have business with his solicitor AB Burger and discovered that South Africa does not have a 30 day registering time for a marriage. He decided to not only propose to Danielle but to invite her to marry in South Africa the following Saturday!  Danielle's shocked parents (Bruce and Margaret also visiting) permitted Danielle the freedom to make up her own mind.

"Evidently the romantic South African air worked its magic and in 24 hours Danielle made up her mind," says Bruce. All the details were accomplished in less than a week. Since Danielle's father is a Pastor in Red Cliffs Victoria Australia, he was able to conduct the ceremony ably assisted by Pastor Leon Erasmus. The couple are now honeymooning in Kruger and beyond.

Debbie Thomson and Morgan Lewele, members of the Kruger to Canyons Biosphere executive committee, received a certificate, denoting the official status of the biosopshere, from Collins Chabane, MEC Economic Development in Limpopo. About 130 people attended the official celebration of the Biosphere's launch during World Environmnet Week.
