Springhare

One of the more characteristic animals of the African night the Springhare has confused many people with its kangaroo-like hopping movements. Despite its name the Springhare is not a hare but a rodent.

Found throughout southern and east Africa the Springhare is a great source of food for wild predators and humans alike, and combined with the degradation of its environment the numbers are dwindling in many places.
